Breathe. Somatic Therapies is a true manifestation of the transformative nature of healing in the body. In my early 20’s, my vision of bringing together the teachings of yoga, Buddhism, somatic psychology, and therapeutic bodywork began to take form. After completing my bachelor’s degree in interpersonal communications at the University of Florida, I went on to graduate from the Florida School of Massage. In 2001, I received my master’s degree in somatic psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and in 2004 I completed my first yoga teacher training. As I was completing my psychotherapy internships and running my private massage therapy practice, I took refuge in my yoga practice and in retreats for mindfulness meditation. More and more, my life continued to return to the body and the present moment. My vision remains guided by my personal practice, and my passion is to humbly serve others with these powerful teachings.
With over fifteen years of personal practice, I have had the opportunity of studying with teachers such as Maritza, Richard Freeman, Tias Little, Phillip Moffit and Jack Kornfield. I have also completed the Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, which served to apply and integrate the teachings of yoga and Buddhism. Currently, I teach public and private yoga classes in Marin County, and run a successful private practice for therapeutic massage and integrative psychotherapy. Guiding this path of awakening is my own unique form of transpersonal poetry, where I fuse creativity and embodiment practices to further personal and collective healing. My poetry can now be found in my first book, Tales from an Awakening. Integrating the theoretical with the experiential, I am so pleased to offer Breathe. Somatic Therapies.
