I began my wonder for the human experience in Gainesville, FL where I received a bachelor's degree in Interpersonal Communications and later graduated from the Florida School of Massage. As a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Bodywork Practitioner, I have operated a successful massage therapy practice for over ten years in both San Rafael and San Francisco. After completing my master's degree in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, I spent the next five years working at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy in San Francisco and the Novato Youth Center in Marin. Currently, I work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in my San Francisco private practice where I weave together Eastern and Western psychologies with psychodynamic and somatic psychotherapies. My practice consists of primarily individuals, couples, and adolescents. Continuing my passion for integrative practices, I began teaching yoga at the Yoga Studio in Larkspur and Mill Valley in 2006 after completing a teacher training with Nikki Estrada. With over a dozen years of personal practice, I have had the opportunity of studying with teachers such as Maritza, Richard Freeman, Tony Briggs, Ramanand Patel, and Jack Kornfield. I will be continuing my studies in the Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, which runs through 2009. At the heart of my work in somatic therapies is my own unique form of transpersonal poetry, where I fuse creativity and embodiment practices to further personal and collective healing. My poetry can now be found in my first book, Tales from an Awakening. Integrating the theoretical with the experiential, I am so pleased to offer Breathe. Somatic Therapies.
